A well attended public meeting last Thursday, but hardly a convincing account of why direct services are to be cut from Sydenham to Charing Cross, while services there from other parts of South East London are to increase. A Southern Rail manager let us know that after a while where people live would adjust to change rail services ... which is undoubtedly true, but do they care about such transitional costs when they are the ones who have to suffer them?
