Pat Trembath - Chairman

Gloria Watson - Secretary

Also elected to the Committee: Emma Blagg, Barbara Downing, Julia Farr, Steve Grindlay, Ruth Locke, Annabel McLaren, Barry Milton and Alona Sheridan. Michael Wheeler was re-appointed Auditor.

After the close of official Business, Any Other Business afforded an interesting opportunity for local councillors Chris Best and Susan Wise to provide an overall update on regeneration matters concerning both Forest Hill and Sydenham. Both updates gave a chance for a dialogue about local concerns and possible solutions, already in the pipeline, or which the councillors indicated they would follow up. The inadequacy of Forest Hill station and the safety of the zebra crossing by Sydenham Station gave greatest cause for concern.

Pat Trembath gave a brief resume about the current position on developments at Bell Green and the National Sports Centre, Crystal Palace (see elsewhere in this newsletter).

Finally there was an opportunity to gauge members' reactions to the Sydenham Gateway proposal first presented to the council in September and published in our last newsletter. Members were keen to see the suggested transport interchange at the station and there was approval for the ideas for improved pedestrian footfall. All agreed that an improved station facility with good disability access was long overdue. A vote taken at the end of the discussion showed 100% agreement with the principle of the Sydenham Gateway plans.

At the close of business there was a chance for members to have a drink and chat with Jim Dowd, Chris, Susan and the newly elected councillor for Forest Hill, Philip Peake, as well as members of the Executive Committee. A most pleasant evening was enjoyed by all.
